Another story makes the task of killing a cockroach into an epic battle of survival. Now that she’s collected them into a book, I skimmed through my copy and immediately bought several others for friends as birthday or Christmas gifts. These essays are mostly funny comments on her life or life in general. Some titles are “Knocked in the Head” (my favorite), “Letting Go of Old Junk,” and “Computer Gripes.” There is a section about creatures — dogs, donkeys and roaches, a few of Sarah’s poems (good) and lastly “Serious Matters” that includes pieces titled “Is It Time to Go Home?” and “The Gift That Can’t Be Wrapped.” The book would make an excellent gift for most any adult.
